Welcome to the updated website for Lord of Life Lutheran Church! I’m Pastor David, Lead Pastor at Lord of Life, and on behalf of the entire congregation I’m honored to be able to welcome you here.
If you come to Lord of Life, you’ll find a group of people from all sorts of backgrounds who share a common goal: To create a world in which “All have life through the love of Christ.” In practice, this means that we are welcoming all people into our community of faith; we are building connections with God and with one another through worship, study, and fellowship; we are experiencing the gracious gift of God’s love for all of humanity through our relationships and through our sacraments of Baptism and Communion; we are being sent back into the world to serve our neighbors with the same love God has shown us; and we are celebrating the life that God has given us here alongside the promise of the new creation that is still to come. Our hope is that this website can be a space where these values are explored and expressed in new and meaningful ways.
Throughout the website you will find up to date information about events taking place in our building or throughout our community. If you are local to the area, we would love to have you join us! We also plan to provide regular content to connect to our faith right here in the digital realm. Are you living abroad and looking for a community to worship with on a regular basis? You can stream our weekly worship services right here. Are you looking for something to encourage you throughout the week as you carry your faith into the world? Give a listen to the Beyond Sunday Podcast here as Pastor David, Patrick Nazaroff, and Elise McCarter tackle issues of faith and real life every week. Looking for a new Bible Study? Or an opportunity to connect your teenager to an encouraging group of peers? Or a way for your whole family to serve in the community? We hope this website will equip you to do all of that and more!
One final thought for this inaugural post. Each week, I end my sermons with the phrase “God loves each of you, and I do too.” As I have said many times, this is a reminder for all of us that in the good times and the bad, during the easy conversations and the hard ones, when we can’t wait to see one another and when we are dreading that next visit, God’s love for us never fails and my love for this community never stops. We are always in this work together, united by the love of God, and we are always there to support one another. This website is an extension of that truth. If you take nothing else away from this site, I hope you experience a community that wants you to know that God loves you. Yes, you. Whatever story you’ve been told, whatever lies the world shouts at you, whatever heartbreak you carry, whatever dreams you’ve always thought were out of reach, here we will always do our best to affirm God’s love for you. I hope you’ll visit this website again. I hope you find the content meaningful. But even if you don’t, I hope you carry this reminder with you every day. Thanks for visiting and may the peace of God surround you always.
God loves each of you and I do too,
Pastor David Bauser
