Questions – A Lenten Journey of Inquiry

This Lent, we are leaning into our relationship with God by exploring one of the most important parts of any relationship: communication. How are we talking to—and listening for—God? We’ll do this by exploring questions in worship on Sundays and Wednesdays.

On Sundays, we will look at stories that remind us of questions we ask of God: “Where is living water?” “Who sinned?” “Why weren’t you here?”

Then on Wednesday evenings, we turn the table and God gets to ask questions of us: “Why are you afraid?” “What are you looking for?” “Do you want to get well?”

As with any good conversations, we aren’t aiming for final answers that put a period on the sentence so we never have think about it again. Rather, we open up lines of communication so that we can speak to and listen for God. Then, as we move into the seasons that remind us of all God does for us, we can work to keep those lines of communication open to talk about all the other questions we still have.
