Kids of the Kingdom Preschool

A ministry of Lord of Life Lutheran Church dedicated to enriching the development of the whole child

Established in 1995, Kids of the Kingdom Preschool (KOK) is the largest outreach ministry of Lord of Life, serving families in the same manner Christ has loved and served all people. The school serves students from the greater Spring and The Woodlands community. Students range in age from 18 months to five years old. Staff and leadership are guided by Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way that child should go and when the child is old, the child will not depart from it.”

Children are God’s people. All are unique, and we love, embrace and build on the needs of each child.

Kids of the Kingdom Preschool provides a positive educational experience in a wholesome and nurturing environment, motivated by the understanding that the first five years of a child’s life are crucial to their development. “Our goal is to meet the needs of each child’s spiritual, social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth,” explains Director Michelle McGuire. “We welcome all, regardless of the circumstance or challenge.”

Dedicated teachers and staff encourage positive self-esteem and individuality while also fostering respect for others and the world around us. Kids of the Kingdom Preschool admits students based on their age as of September 1 and admits students of every race, ethnicity, religion, and national origin.

The Kids of the Kingdom Preschool environment provides opportunities for children to explore, wonder, question, create, and play, while engaging in age-appropriate learning activities. The school uses a theme and literature-based curriculum, reinforced in learning centers including art, blocks, manipulatives, housekeeping, reading, and writing. Enrichment opportunities include music, science, and physical fitness/motor movement classes appropriate to each age group.

Because Kids of the Kingdom Preschool is a Christian ministry, students attend weekly chapel time as well as learning Bible lessons and offering daily prayers. Chapel time provides a time to gather and share God’s love with one another by singing fun praise songs, listening to Bible stories, and learning to pray.

KOK’s teachers are experienced childhood educators who stay up-to-date on current ideas and teaching techniques and have a genuine love for children. The school has an “open door” policy and encourages parents to become actively involved in their child’s preschool experience.
