Service of Ordination – Linda Jo Davies

By the grace of God and the Metropolitan Chicago Synod and the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Linda Jo Davies will be ordained to the ministry of word and sacrament at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in The Woodlands.

Here is a statement from Linda:

About seven years ago I began to feel that God may be calling me into serving in a new way. Over the next year, I spent time praying about what I was being called to do, exploring the variety of options available to me, and talking to friends and family about the idea of seminary. The prevailing attitude was that I should go to seminary. In February 2021, two different sermons had the message – “Are you doing what God is calling you to do? If not, why not?” Those sermons sent a powerful message to me confirming that God is calling me. I reached out to Pastor David and the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod to begin candidacy for rostered leadership. Bishop Rinehart approved my long-distance candidacy as I had recently relocated to Cheyenne, WY, but Lord of Life would remain my home congregation. Over the next three years, I attended Luther Seminary on an ELCA Fund for Leaders Scholarship as a distance learner. I completed my internship at Ascension Lutheran Church in Cheyenne, WY, and obtained my Master of Divinity in August of 2025. I am excited to share that I have been called as Pastor to All Saints Lutheran Church in Palatine, IL, beginning in April 2026. My ordination will be held at Lord of Life Lutheran Church on April 18, 2026.
