Mission Endowment Funds

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things in all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

— 2 Corinthians 9:8

You can make a lasting statement of your faith and values and support the mission of Lord of Life Lutheran Church by giving now to one of our mission endowment funds or by naming one or more of the funds as a beneficiary of your will, tax deferred account, or estate plan. There are three Lord of Life Mission Endowment Funds. You can give to one or more of the funds or allocate a contribution to be distributed between the three.

Gebert Mission in Outreach Fund

Barbara and Don Gebert

Barbara and Don Gebert

The Gebert Mission in Outreach Fund was established in honor of Lord of Life Pastor Emeritus (and founding member of Interfaith of The Woodlands) Don Gebert and his wife Barbara. The purpose of this fund is to provide financial assistance to mission programs outside Lord of Life and to support social outreach activities of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and in the greater Houston/Montgomery County area. This includes US-based and global missions of the ELCA although funding has typically focused on Houston area outreach.

Examples of organizations supported by the Gebert Mission in Outreach Fund include Angel Reach, Houston Lutheran Campus Ministry, Interfaith Community Clinic, Kids of the Kingdom Preschool Scholarships, Lutherhill Ministries, and global and local mission partners.

Mission in Ministry Fund

Children in worship at Christmas

The purpose of Mission in Ministry Fund is to provide financial assistance to special projects or programs both inside and outside Lord of Life, specifically in the areas of music, worship, education, and children’s and youth faith formation.

Examples of support provided by this fund include hiring musicians for worship services and special programs; purchasing paraments and banners for display around the church; upgrading Lord of Life’s organ and sanctuary audio-visual systems, purchasing supplies and educational materials for Sunday School classes and Vacation Bible School, providing financial support for youth and family mission trips, and funding scholarships for youth and family to attend camps, church events, and ELCA events.

Mission in Facilities Support Fund

The Sanctuary on Palm Sunday

The purpose of the Mission in Facilities Support Fund is to provide money for capital improvements and projects affecting Lord of Life facilities, major repairs when needed, and debt reduction in support of all missions of the church.

Examples of support provided by this fund include renovating and expanding the Lord of Life church building and grounds; replacing and upgrading the roof, HVAC system, and technology systems; and paying down Lord of Life’s building mortgage. Future support could include building and outfitting a new building for the Lord of Life congregation or a new church plant.
