Traditional Worship – First Sunday of Lent

“If you are the Son of God…” This week we listen in as Jesus is tempted in the wilderness and dared to prove his authority as God’s son. Then, we take time to think about the times we have been disappointed when God hasn’t lived up to the dares that we speak into the world. So, if God doesn’t respond to a dare, is the problem with God? Or is the problem with making a dare in the first place?

Our theme for Lent this year is QUESTIONS – A Lenten Journey of Inquiry. This Lent, we are stepping into the heart of the conversation. On Sunday mornings, we will explore the deep, rattling questions we bring to Jesus—the ones about suffering, purpose, and the mysteries of life. On Wednesday nights, the tables will turn as we sit in the “hot seat” to ponder the soul-searching questions God asks us. Whether you are seeking answers or learning to live with the questions, there is a seat at the table for you.
